Maybe so if they swim, they look white from below and an animal cant see them from the top because theyre black?

I think you've pretty much answered your own question. They blend in with the light surface of the water when viewed from below and blend in with the black void of the ocean when viewed from above. This helps them to camouflage and avoid predators.

That is correct. It is called countershading. Sharks, orcas, and dolphins have this to name a few.

yeah it is one of the reason... but i guess their back side's black coz they are mainly found in the colder areas where the sunlight is very less... n so as to get as much sunlight as they could when the sun comes out.. their back side is black... but dunno y their front side is white...

mabye because black attracts heat, and they need heat on there backs in cold climates.
