I went to school in golden for my bachelors and masters. It is a great area to live and work in. the cost of living is one of the higher ones for the denver metro area. If you look at north western Lakewood you'll find cheaper living and you'll only be a 10 min drive from Golden. That's what I did and still do.

It is a great place to raise kids. there is lots of different activities, both indoor and out door, the education in jefferson county is good and the post - secondary education is second to none.

North western Lakewood and Western Arvada are a little cheaper than Golden and all a great area.

Golden is a great town; nice history; beautiful location near the mountains; great weather.

Far enough from Denver to avoid the city problems, but close enough if you work there.

Cost of living is above average. But I'd say it's worth it.

Golden is a beautiful town and a great place to live. It is pretty expensive to live there though. My husband misses it so much, we moved 9 years ago...

I know they brew beer there, so if your kids stress you out, it might be a good thing to have a brewery near by. J/K
