wow! three weeks ago you were an uneducated girl living with your pervert husband in a 15 room mansion, and now you have your law degree already. I wish I could get through law school that fast. BTW, how was the orgy?

Don't they realize that pursuing your litigation career would be a gamble as well.
If your current job fails, you still have the other option available.
Don't let them make you second guess yourself.
Whose life is it anyway Jane?

One nice thing about family and freinds is that you can 'let your hair down' around them. The normal rules of civility and etiquette are loosened. We can uncinch our belt after a Thanksgiving meal, for instance, and kick back on the couch. But...there is a 'dark' side to this familiarity.
We tend to tell our family how we REALLY feel about things. We interfere in matters that are none of our concern. We say things to our family that we wouldn't dream of saying to our co-workers.
It's all part of having people that care about you. Perhaps they are living vicariously through you, and they are disappointed that you have 'sold' out. Many times, when our heros disappoint us, we lash out. The failing may be with thier high expectations of you.
Whatever the case, just be honest. Tell them that right now, you need thier support. They can say,'I told you so' some other time. Ask them to hold thier negative comments, and try to avoid bringing up your job in family conversations.

why is what your family saiid bothering you? Are you happier? Litigation is more work, more money less peace of mind. See if you dont have time to enjoy your life. You miss out on life. Money isnt everything. Close sometimes but isnt everything.

Advice is always freely given. (Look at what we do here.) However, you must make your own choices. If the company folds, then you can always revert back to the litigation side.

It doesn't matter what they want, it's what you want. You are the one that has to attend that job everyday. It could be they liked the "fame" of knowing you when you were doing the ligitations. If this don't pan out for you, you can always go back to doing what you was. Dont let them get to you, sometimes jealousy over rides all.!

They want to believe that they are doing the right thing... which makes them want to believe you are doing the wrong thing... which makes them idiots, because they could be doing what's right for them, while you are doing what's right for you.

Tell them you are intelligent and educated. You make decisions that are right for yourself. Tell them you are happy with your decision, and you are not going to change so..."get off my back, already."

Ask them what they think you gave up. It might be enlightening.
