"Depression and anxiety follow the pressures and stress of existence, and have become a worldwide problem. The cause of this emotional state is the deprivation of happiness and peace that all people seek, but cannot find in a world of constant wars and rumors of wars, political, economic and religious slavery in order to survive, abject poverty and the effects of crime. Legal and illegal drugs, both natural and synthetic, become the refuge of both young and old, rich and poor, bond and free, relieving them of a never-ending 'torment' that only ends upon death." pg 210

"The nations of the world set up economic policies that do not provide for the necessities of the masses. The wealthy use these policies to take advantage of the poor by paying low wages. Because of these policies, a corporation or business can release an employee from work at will. When they are treated as an expendable resource, the masses begin to hate the 'system' their governments and the premise for which these exist--greed and profit." pg 386

"When it becomes more profitable to replace the laborers with machines or outsourcing their jobs to another country with cheaper labor, the people rise up in rebellion and protest. Poverty increases, crime increases, and in time, the once prosperous and peaceful country is filled with civil uprisings and unrest." pg 387

Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

Poverty breeds resentment, a feeling of despair etc. Often there are no means available to them for jobs which breeds more frustration. Because of the violence businesses do not move into the neighborhoods.
Less money is often spent in school in low income areas and poverty disallows students from attending private well funded schools and often college because they cannot afford it.
If society took away all of your chances and all of your abilities to reach the American dream, you would have issues too.
In addition, the family structure often breaks down in poverty ridden areas and this leads to kids trying to form bonds with gangs etc.
Often, race plays a role because despite what is said, fewer job opportunities etc are open to minorities so often low income violence ridden neighborhoods tends to be minorities or recent immigrants to the US.
Poverty and violence are vicious cycles and the US is not doing a very good job to combat it, in my own humble opinion.

You should've asked this in the PSYCHOLOGY section.

Anyway, fine !

Poverty usually breeds jealousy. Jealousy provokes a man to do ANY thing : That is, poverty, when fuelled by dissatisfaction, goads a man to stop at NOTHING.

Such over-ambitious poor people usually have feelings of :

* Resentment
* Very low or Very high self-concepts
* Anger combined with frustration
* Uncontrollable emotions, etc.............

All these, acting together, make them VIOLENT.

In most cases violence portrayed by the poor people is due to :
* Unemployment
* Low salary & under-employment
* Uncertain jobs
* Lack of job satisfaction

HEY, BUT THEN THERE ARE SO.......... MANY NI....CE POOR PEOPLE AROUND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
