Absolutely no way. These kids are old enough to be able to realise what would be happening to them and I can't think of anything more cruel. And anyway, if the McCanns were such bad parents, wouldn't something have happened to the twins by now?
I'm still inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think they were just terribly naive and foolish and yes, frankly stupid. If little Maddie is never found then they will have to live with all of this for the rest of their lives : isn't that enough punishment? Even if they are supposedly guilty, frankly that's for a court to decide and not the lynch mob that collective public opinion can be. The mark of any civilised society anywhere should be enforcement of and respect for the rule of law, not by the general population at large but by the the judicial system which in a true democracy should be independent of the state. If that ever goes, then god help us all.

I think we'd need evidence that their parents were guilty of something first.
However
Havign said that I also have to say that leaving small children unattended is a stupid thing to do and the McCanns money and status does not excuse them from this. Social Services need to look into this just as they would if it had been a poor young single mum who was leaving her kids home alone whilst she went out with her friends. In that case they'd have come down on her like a ton of bricks.

Absolutely not. Social Services don't just whip children away and have them adopted without lengthy investigation, interviews and assessments. Adoption is a last resort, not a knee-jerk reaction.
We don't even know yet whether the twins' parents have done anything wrong other than leaving the children alone, which admittedly was quite wrong, but no doubt Social Services will have made this quite clear to them and they will be careful not to do that again.
Whatever action Social Services feel they must take with regard to the children, if any, will be a matter for them and the parents, not for public debate.

no i dont agree, what they did leaving the children alone was very wrong and the fact that they are suspects doesnt make them guilty of murder. and taking the twins away at the moment is probably not a good idea for the twins sake not the parents i dont think the twins are in any danger if the parents have done away with maddie then i would say it was an accident that they have covered up which in theory doesnt make them monsters just stupid

No i do not agree, if the McCanns are to be separated from their children adopting the children out to complete strangers would be disastrous, there are many people within this family that are capable giving the children a loving and secure family life in surroundings the children already feel at home in

The McScams are guilty, of course. Nice media campaign, but most people aren't fooled. The ones who are fooled sound very naive. The forensic lab in the UK has found out that Madeleine was regularly sedated. Remember they have already denied sedating the kids. Tsk tsk. The fact that the twins haven't been taken into care yet, makes my hair stand on end. Most perplexing.
McCanns = oh so sinister.

for crying out loud, i wish people would get off the media's bandwagon, and form opinions of their own. NOBODY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED SO STOP PERSECUTING. the british always boast about innnocene until proven guilty but obviously we contradict ourselves, with this insane witchhunt, there is no real evidence, the dna in the car could have come from the parents. fact. the blood in the apartment could have come from when she fell over in the pool fact. so why dont everyone start banging on about real issues and come back when they have some real evidene to support their theories,

Why.You should consider becoming a social worker,thats just the sort of drivel they would come out with.
The parents are innocent so why should they have their children taken away? Have a heart.

Oh don't be so ridiculous! You can't just go ripping families apart without any concrete evidence anything bad has happened!
Thank God YOU aren't in charge of Social Services or no one would be able to keep their children!
