It depends on what the purpose of doing this is, if your just re-doing the floor to help sell your house then obviously lino tile would be the best because its cheap and will hold up enough, but you have to make sure you use the sealer to seal the lines because it will start to peal up from dirty getting in the cracks and making it not stick to the old flooring. So you have to think if you have high traffic volume, its probably not the best idea because it will wear faster then tile.
If you are planning on staying in your place for a few years, I would suggest going with tile because not only don't it look better, the durability factor is way higher then the lino tile. You will spend more in the end but it will be worth it.
I just recently did the lino tiles in one bathroom and did tiles in another. After seeing both done, the tile looks way better then the lino, but it was at a cost of like 100 dollars difference once completed.
Hope this helped!

Vinyl self stick tiles are the cheapest way to go.
Sheet goods are also cheap.
I have ceramic tiles in my kitchen. Permanent, easily cleaned and better than vinyl flooring. Much more costly too.

Assuming which you're no longer in an earthquake zone.. i might proceed with the tile. making particular that the tile you %. is lightish in shade to carry as lots easy to the kitchen as feasible.. and likewise of lots magnitude.. make particular that the tile isn't the slippery type.. wherein in case you drop somewhat water on the floor, yo won't slip and fall. employing tile: i might tear out the present tile AND vinyl flooring below the tile. (FYI: i will think of of NO situations the place i might have allowed tile to be located on genuine OF vinyl flooring) interior the kitchen.. a zone sukbject to spilling, etc, i might want tile quite of laminate. With laminate flooring, you would be situation to spilling and in all probability staining.

CHEAP; BEST; EASIEST are all relative words. Is your intent to DIY? OR have the floor installed?
Lino is archaic.
In some measure hopefully it depends on what you want to achieve, as much as on how much you want to; or don't want to spend.
Sheet Vinyl would probably suit you. Obviously this arena and those of us who answer will have; and offer, various opinions. One of mine would be NO vinyl tile.

I would go for lino squares, they are easy to lay and come with their own glue, and relatively cheap! And if you mess up along the way, then it's only one square you've stuffed up! Have a great day.

Linoleum is the cheapest but won't add any value to your home. Tiles would be a better choice.
