According to Hindu texts Ramayana must have taken place in “Terta yuga” i.e. 1,296,000 years ago. Homo sapiens first appeared approximately 120,000 years ago I.e. much after Ramayana. Description given in the Hindu religious texts show that Rama and people of Ramayana must be advance Homo sapiens who can talk, walk upright, Build houses, setup fire, make wheel, do farming, and who can write (not only painting) and many other things.

But MOUSTERIAN TOOLS (built by rocks) appeared around 200,000 years ago and persisted until about 40,000 years ago, in much the same areas of Europe, the Near East and Africa where Acheulean tools appear. In Europe these tools are most closely associated with Homo neanderthalensis, but elsewhere were made by both Neanderthals and early Homo sapiens. UPPER PALEOLITHIC TOOLS, dominant from 40,000 to 12,000 years ago, appears to have originated independently in both Asia and (as early as 90,000 years ago) in Africa.

Now this evidence clearly demonstrates that Ramayana can not be a true event if we take the dates given in the Hindu books to be true.
And the bridge is a natural bridge. No evidence exist that proves that it is a man made bridge.

Lord Rama, no matter how many people disbelieve, is the Maha Avatar of the Supreme Lord Vishnu.

The Ram Sethu was initially described by NASA as a '1.75 Million year Old Bridge that appears Man-Made'. However, they debunked it later. There are two reasons for this: 1) The Indian Government persuaded NASA to do so, 2) Anything that reinforces Hinduism would prove a bit morale puncturing for other faiths (Though Lord Vishnu Himself said that all faiths eventually lead to Him). Even so, NASA has said that they now take a neutral stance on the issue. They have said that they claim nothing about the bridge.

Simply put, this is just base, depraved, appeasement politics. The Government refuses to recognise anything that relates to Hinduism. Dwaraka, the City of Lord Krishna, was discovered, along with many artefacts that corroborated what is mentioned in the scriptures. Yet, the Government refused to grant funding for further excavation. A similar decision is to declare the Ramar Sethu as Natural and try to destroy it.

In fact, a local paper printed the news that a major report was leaked, which had been hidden by the government for awhile. The report was by certain Government Scientists who say that Ramar Sethu looks Man-Made as the rocks appear to be transported from somewhere, and seem to lie on loose sediments.

The ASI's reports are false. They claim to be an independent research body, but they are very much influenced by the Central Government, which is extremely Anti-Hindu.

And Lord Rama was no King or mere Person. He was, as the Scriptures say, one of the greatest and most powerful incarnations of Maha Vishnu. Our Texts have never been changed or embroidered over time, because they were handed down orally. Man never placed his interfering hands on them. The British tried to tamper with a few Puranas and succeeded, but these have been recognised as fake and the geniune ones still exist.

In Conclusion, I can forcefully say that Lord Rama is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who incarnated on Earth and built this Bridge with the help of the Vanara Sena.

Friend, it is the question of belief rather than fact. It is not only in Hinduism. Facts standing on belief is common to almost all known religions. Miraccles, Mantras, Healing, Curing, bringing objects from nowhere has found place in most of the stories associated with the religious founders, propagators. Hindus believe that Rama setu created by lord Ram only and all the facts are compiled and standing on this belief only.

Lord Rama is believed to have born in Treta Yuga, which is supposed to have occurred some 1,296,000 human years before(astrological calculations suggest the year of birth of Lord Ram to be 5114 B.C), so we cannot argue on something that we believe to have occurred soo long ago because we cannot completely get the proof of what has happened, these were the ages when vanaras(tribes with the monkey totem) roamed around forests and they are supposed to have helped Lord Rama to have constructed the bridge.
I am sure he existed and Ramayana is true. Rama’s life is a fact. His divinity is a matter of faith.
Rama is not a god in the epic. But we have contemporary examples of people deified in their lifetime, such as the Shirdi Baba, Sri Guru Ragavendra, Jesus and many more who have supposed to have been considered God because of their miracles, their teachings and pure life.
The Ramayana is geographically very correct. Every site on Rama’s route is still identifiable and has continuing traditions to commemorate Rama’s visit. At that age no writer had the means to travel around the country inventing a story.
This bridge is actually a proof for Ramayana, thats the reason people are against destroying a part of it.

Dredging rama sethu is a choice between economy and spirituality,
I would rather go for the second.
I want India to be what it is supposed to be and what it actually was.
I want India to be a spiritual super force and not an economic super power.
Money is not the one that decides peoples happiness,
U cannot say Americans are a happier lot.
(yes of course basic necessities must be met/India was a lot richer ages before)
India has lost its roots already, Until and unless it goes back to its roots, what ever might be the economic status, people are still goin to be just another type of animals without knowing their true inner self and what true happiness is.

Rama is true, Rama sethu is true, His divinity is a matter of faith.

Whether he is God or not, what really matters is what we get from his life and teachings.

His teachings are really divine.

It is both natural and cultural heritage of India.Already several crores have were lost in an attempt to break the natural/man-made formation.Dredger vessels and 150T crane sent to retrieve the vessel also sunk in the depths of the ocean.
Breaking of the formation is not going to be easy and it is better to realign before incurring more losses.
Natural in the sense it is a natural formation.
Man made in the sense the natural formation was taken advantage of to build a bridge.
While the submerged portions are natural there must be indications at about sea level for the man made portion though these will be exposed to the fury of the sea.
It is prudent to carry out the project with no or least damage to this heritage.

It is real. The findings by NASA can not be a HOAX. It is the proof of what our epics have said. Now it is clear not only Hindus but to the world about the truth of Ramayana and the bridge built by Rama. It is only our Dirty Indian politicians making hue and cry. - Read further -

Space images taken by NASA reveal a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam´s Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long.

The bridge´s unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago and the bridge´s age is also almost equivalent.

This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in tredha yuga (more than 1,700,000 years ago).

In this epic, there is a mentioning about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme.

This information may not be of much importance to the archeologists who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.-

Western education system has refused to accept anything which can not be expressed in figures or the things which are not tangible. Indian ethos accepts both as standards of proof. Before written history made it's place in academic circles, SHRUTI and SMRITI were the only known medium of transmitting the knowledge and information. Besides our scriptures were written in MUGDHA style, meaning there by that it has not to be taken at face value. It required to disipher the contents. The scholars trained in western style has failed to take these things in to account. They failed to disipher RAMAYANA, RAMCHARIT MANAS etc. It is not their fault, but the fault of the education system.
