I was driving it fine earlier. Parked it and left, using it and the reverse worked fine. When I noticed when I got home, i tried shifting it into reverse, it wouldn't do anything. It was like there was never a reverse. Its a 1986 MR2. All the other gears work fine. I can shift into 1st - 5th, just not reverse. Need help ASAP. I need this car for school

If that is the case, how long will it take to repair and how much will it cost?

the shift linkage is out of adjustment or bushing/linkage wear has become excessive. consult your local dealer as bushings for this are probably not stocked at a local level and the car may need to be kept over. until then try to park on a grade so you can roll back out of your parking spot.

Sounds like a linkage or cable problem or could also be in the shifter itself. You're gonna have to take it somewhere and have it checked out>
