Maggie Thatcher joined Gordon Brown at No.10 last week at his request... in return for an invite she extended to him years ago to visit No. 10

Knowing that QUOTE ""That's all we politicians are good for... photographs," the prime minister (aka Tony Bliar(sic) repeated a couple of times." UNQUOTE http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/6166242.stm

Do you think Gordon Brown had an ulterior motive in instigating such a photocall?

Has his "courtesy" un-nerved the David Cameron in the lead-up to the forth-coming General Election?

They say a photograph paints a thousand words.. let's narrow it down to 29 - common courtesy or political ploy

Politicians never do anything out of common courtesy.
Given that Mrs T was not my favourite person when she was in power, she still stands head and shoulders above any one who has followed her in either party. I can only think this is the reason why successive Tory leaders have not given her the credit she deserves. If her own party can not recognise her value and (I think many feel guilty about the way she has been treated) They do not deserve to win the next election. Let us face it Brown has stolen their thunder in a way which would have been impossible had they extended the same invitation to Mrs T

I like Gordon Brown but, I think there is an ulterior motive behind it. Why would you invite a previous prime minister to stay with you. May be she's his adviser. political ploy

It seems that both Gordon Brown and Maggie were both in on the ploy to embarrass Cameron, it was done when the Tories were due to announce their environmental plans, but did they get the headlines...no way...well done Maggie.

Clearly a political ploy to annoy Cameron. However I cannot condone Brown inviting her whatever the reason. She was an evil woman hell bent on destroying our social structure with her every man for himself policies.
