Don't use general chemicals unless you know what you're doing.

There are some quite good polishes on the market that do this for acrylics paints, road grime etc. Maguires is a good brand.

But if it doesn't come off with a little elbow grease, the go and see a panel shop - don't use anything else, you might put something on that doesn't seem to do any damage but in six months time leaves your paint work ruined.

Depends upon what kind of paint it is. If it is enamel or latex from over spraying your house, the paint can be removed by waxing and polishing with a buffer. If it is acrylic automobile paint, ask a paint and body shop. With the different clearcoat finishes on newer cars, I would hesitate to use any chemicals that may cause more damage.

Depends on the paint that is splashed. I used one of those plastic scour backed kitchen sponges with a little t-cut fluid. Got a patch of vinyl paint of my bonnet easy. But don't overdo it! It helps if you wax your paintwork regularly, as any "new" paint will find it more difficult to bond.

T-cut the affected areas then polish, makes the paint look like new.

I'd agree, try nail varnish remover (which is acetone, which the trade would use). Be careful and try a small spot first.
