when communist china and north korea counterattacked the americans and south koreans, could they have possibly advanced passed the 38th parallel and completely drive out the americans and south koreans from korea?

i said it right and stated it right cowboydoc. it looks like you said it wrong and stated it wrong and need a history lesson. you said "The North Koreans and China attacked the South and the American forces and pushed them back to the sea" this is wrong. in the beginning of the korean war, china and america werent militarily involved. and north korea and china never pushed them back to the sea. north korea invaded much of south korea without the help of china but when america joined the war and landed in incheon south korea thats when the north koreans started their retreat into china, and is where my question comes into play. when communist china and north korea counterattacked the americans and south koreans, could they have possibly advanced passed the 38th parallel and completely drive out the americans and south koreans from korea? notice that i said "possibly" in the question

You've said it wrong, stated it wrong. The North Koreans and China attacked the South and the American forces and pushed them back to the sea, then the American forces and it's allies came back much stronger then at first, they pushed the Chinese and the North Koreans back with vicious fighting all the way to the 38th parallel and held them there. That's when they sat down.

I had more then several friends that were with the fifth Marines and fighting there, the stories they tell are out of hell, especially the winters. The Chinese and Koreans were on drugs very heavy and that's what kept them fighting. They attacked by the thousands, my friend said he maned a machine gun, a .30 caliber machine gun, in one attack he said they came in waves, one after the other like they had no meaning.
After the fight which seemed to last for hours, they counted North Koreans and Chinese troops eight deep outside the bunker, as far as the eye could see. He said he sat down and cried for the deaths he caused. Most were caring drugs on them and the wounded didn't know they were wounded they were so drugged up.

I truly don't think that was the idea.

This is a situation that has no treaty, and no reasonable explanation as to why not.

One day, something will wake up this poor idea of a joke up, and those people, as well as the rest of the world will realize what a waste of time this has been.

We have a lot of catching up to do.

just normally....sometimes communists win liek in Vietnam and sometimes loose like in Korea (or rather loose in half)
