Do you think it is mostly to do with population? People always say there is more murder and crime, but back in the old days there was still a lot of murder, lots of poisonings, assasinations, wives boiling and eating their husbands (thats what happens when we are opressed fellas!) and so on. I think that lack of punishment (i.e spanking) for children also contributes and that most places no longer have the death penalty. Why do you think the world is going downhill? And is it really or are there just more bad people simply because there are more people in general?

there are fewer bad people. just outlets like fox news take every bad event and make it into a 24 hour marathon of exploitation. It is how the people in power maintain their power making sure we all work like frightened idiots.

In truth we are becoming a highly technological society that is keeping a closer and closer eye on the activities of those with criminal intent and always looking for better ways to rehabilitate them.

however i agree that population pressure helps make the world more miserable as we know that resources are getting wasted at an ever faster pace and there are fewer and fewer opportunities for privacy where a woman can just eat her husband in peace.

I don't agree with SPANKING children how can you spank them and then tell them its wrong when they hit some1. bad parenting and exposing are children to violence and even arguing in front of are children is what makes them pick up there bad attitude and habits the violence they see at home and t.v. is what makes them lash out at people or even bet there partners when they get older. i think the world did go down hill we went from maybe 10 to 20 murders a yr to over a 1000 a yr and it maybe because of a bigger population but Domestic violence against women is a disturbingly common occurrence in the United States and if kids are not exposed to it at home the numbers of murders would go down because they wouldn't learn to fix there problems with violence. Wives killing there husbands wouldn't happen as often ether if they weren't abused by them. But what can we expect it a small world over populated and if it was perfect with no killings we would have too many people in the world and are husbands would probably be aloud to have 7 wives.

TV has ruined the world, and now the internet is finishing it off. :)
I think as we become more enlightened, we become more angry with ourselves and others. For instance...more and more people are realizing that killing animals and eating their flesh isn't "ok"...but it's the "normal" thing to do...so with the enlightenment of knowing it's wrong comes the moral struggle...the anxiety...
It's a small example, but the principle holds true. We are more aware, therefore more conflicted.
I think I just babbled.

Techonological culture aside, todays sociological society isn't all that different than it was when America first began being populated. It's just today, given our whiz-bang digital instant media--we see w/ abject clarity our human society in scores of behavioral facets that were ALREADY there.

if you can not control your kids...remember it's YOU not them that has LOST control.

that being said...

greed, misunderstanding of other races, selfishness, there
is not as much disipline toward our kids today and people
thinking they know what's best for others when all they want
in reality is to have control and make others think like them
