Whould it matter for what exactly?
It would have an effect on how will it move once in the water. It would have an effect on how much splashing will take place...

"In terms of viscosity", as you say in your other question. Viscosity is a number, it is a property of the liquid. Ball or no ball - it stays the same.
It is still hard to understand what are you referring to. Terminal velocity?

Of course it would "matter"
the force or lack of force will always "matter" in any action and reaction processes !! The addition of force within any action definitely changes the factors involved in all influenced properties --- therefore it "matters" !!
