Do you ever wish?

Question

That you whre born in a diff decade? My dad and i got to talking and i told him i wish i was alive for the late 60's and my dad said i should be glad that i was born when i was (1976). i think he just says that because the late sixties and early 70's was a tough time for him from being in Vietnam and than seeing two of his best friends die there. what about you?

why yes i am 31 years young. Best years of my life have yet to come :)

I was in my twenties then and yes there was a lot happening but I remember being confused a lot as it was a huge transition period for a lot of things, music, religion, sex, national pride, and political leadership just to name a few. And for a guy my age with a wife the same age, we had problems discussing and coming to grips with what was fad and what was change and what was important. There seemed to be a lot of that going on then, people didn't really know what was socially acceptable and of that what was personally acceptable. Free this and free that and free the other thing. It was all very confusing. And of course there was Viet Nam and the draft and people on both side dying a very unwar like death.

No you were born at the end of that period and didn't have to go through it but did have to deal or redeal with the effect it had on everything that followed and you did a good job of sorting the accepables and realizing what they meant. You were born at a good time. your dad is right. Thank him for it.

It would be cool to have been born like 5000 years in the future from now and see how the world and people have progressed but then again I don't know it could not even exist....Plus If I was born in a different decade I wouldn't have met the great people that I have met in this decade and I wouldn't be who I am now. Sure there are certain qualities that I dislike about this decade but I don't wish to be in a different decade because of it. To me wishing doesn't get anybody anywhere in life. It's when people actually realize that, that anything gets done on this earth.

I bet it would be cool to live in a city during the 70's but I'm perfectly happy with the decade that I was born in.

Yer for the duration of a foul element in my existence while i became depressed and out of a activity. I acually wish upon a celebrity for my existence to alter into extra useful, and that i became quite searching for a thank you to dig myself out of a rut. Seriuosly i became homeless for 3 months and each thing!.and you recognize what my wish got here actual. I now am working as a builder and have a baby and lifes large. All thanx to my wish coming actual

I kind of do because I'm 16 right now and I wish I was born earlier because I think today teenagers have a lot more stress and worries and sometimes I just wish things were different.

Yes..I feel a lot older than the age I am..I feel like I should have grown up in the 60's or something. I like a lot of things from the 60's (music, movies, etc.) and I'm all about the peace and love mentality.

Yes, as a matter of fact. I've always wished I lived during the 80's. I don't know why, but I love 80's music!

I am happy being born when I was. I enjoyed being in an era without much crime and lived a life similar to Mark Twain's easy going one.

no... living in earlier decades when there are still not much technological advances would be so hard for me... i don't want to live during the war either. i'm contented being born in the 90's.. :p

yeah i wish I was born in the thirties, because i love the old movies. then i'd be old enough to go to paris in the '60s and enjoy the creative period and the cahiers du cinema and french new wave movement :) :)
