Well that far along its not classed as a miscarriage. It all depends if they were fraternal twins or identical twins. if they share a placenta then they have to do a procedure where they have to sever a blood vessel to the dead fetus so it will not affect the other baby. ( this is rare ) or they would induce her if the healthy baby was in danger and give birth to the two baby's and hope the other one would be OK. If they were fraternal twins then she will be monitored and would have to give birth to both of the twins, they will let her go as long as the healthy baby is OK .
I was pregnant with fraternal twins and lost one at 9 weeks (i didnt bleed or have any pain ), they told me that my twin that dies will re-absorb back into my body ( disappear ) if not they have to make sure that the sac comes away after my healthy baby is born, this is called Vanishing Twin Syndrome, ive attached a site for more info on that , this syndrome only occurs in the first trimester.
hope this helps :)

In all probablity if one twin dies during mid pregnency the chance for survival of the other twin is also very remote and it will conclude in miscarriage and the other twin also has to be removed by procedure/surgery only.

What happens if one twin dies? That depends on the specific kinds of anastomoses that are present. What happens if laser therapy is initiated to remove any connections between the twins? That, too, depends on understanding details of the anastomotic connections. For example, in the third mechanism mentioned above, interruption of the communication could actually be quite harmful.

In some twin pregnancies, one of the babies dies. If this happens in early pregnancy, you may have some spotting or bleeding from your vagina. This does not harm you or the other baby. Later in pregnancy, death of one of the babies is more serious, but often you can still have one healthy child. Losing a baby when you are still pregnant with another can be very hard for you and your family. It can help to talk with your doctor, nurse, or a counselor about your feelings.

Twins (and higher order multiples) can be either monozygotic or dizygotic (or trizygotic etc. depending on the number of fetuses). Zygosity has implications for the twins after birth- whether they are "identical" (which no monozygotic twins truly are), or "fraternal". MZ twins are often treated differently and assumed to have a closer bond than DZ twins, and can always act as organ donors, blood donors etc. for each other. Monozygotic twins are also likely to develop the same genetic disorders- if a disorder is present in one twin than it is likely the other twin will develop it as well. The ONLY time that placentation can determine zygosity is if the twins are Monochorionic (therefore the twins must be MZ) . Two placentas or two chorions do not mean that the twins are dizygotic. Unless you have Monochorionic twins DNA testing must be performed to detect zygosity. . -

early in the pregnancy a miscarriage of one of the twins the other will most likely survive, i believe that if they are fraternal twins and one dies the docotor can remove it if it looks like its going to cause problems with the other one, but with identical twins if one twin dies it leaves the other healthier for some reason (i dont know more space or nutrients or something), and it most likely wont screw up the other twin, and i dont think the dead identical twin can be removed but im not a doctor, so i hope this helps

reabsorbs means that it takes back the nutrients given to the fetus and reuses them for important matters rather then jusst have them lying around in your womb

They will make the mother carry it until birth occurs naturally, whether it's a twin or an individual fetus.
