Academy: 1474, from L. academia, from Gk. Akademeia "grove of Akademos," a legendary Athenian of the Trojan War tales (his name apparently means "of a silent district")
Why the name "Akademos" means "silent district"?
I know the meaning of "*dem",but what's the meaning of "*aca"?

I think Plato's academy was in a quiet district, but not that the name Akademeia means quiet district.
