I think the best time for the boom in animation was during the80's to early 90's. The ones I remember are The Transformers, HE-MAN, The Spiral Zone, MASK, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Bionic Six, Jayce and the Wheeled warriors, The Real Ghostbusters, Visionaries, Mighty Orbots, Bravestarr,Robotech, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Adventure of the Gummi Bears. Ahh those were the days.

I recently wrote an article on this. The cartoons of our time have long cease existence in the eyes of corporate America. Classic cartoons like Batman the animated series, Thundercats or Darkwing Duck, etc. . . would be to complex for the kids now a days. They settle for the simple and basic. Even the animaniac's had tons of educational information. If you surf through the channels all the cartoons are made from the same formula. Unlike our generations in which we had a large variety to enjoy. Just like Barney was replaced by Hip Hop Harry. Its all about kids having a cell phone by the age of 6, sex by the age of 12, pregnancy by the age of 16. Our cartoons would be too corny or in there simple words "How Can You Watch This" . . . and its a shame they'll never understand.

because they don't fit the marketing plans of corporate america. almost all cartoons pretty much teach kids to fall into quantifiable stereotypes. origionality is dead. Old fashion cartoon like yogi bear and the pink panther can still be seen on the Boomerang channel but as far as being feed into the main stream the stuff is not trendy and doen't brain wahs kids. and have you ever wondered about the disappearence of all the "politically incorrect cartoons?" I loved fog horn leg horn he was a pimp man.
man and i miss all the old nickalodien shows. Like rocko modern life, ren and stimpy, the anger beavers and most of all invader zim.
yeah i digress not cool enough and not quantifiable
