I think that there is no question that the Patriots are a talented team and a talented organization, which is what makes what they did even more irresponsible. If they are indeed as good they say they are then there should have been no reason for them to do what they did. I don't think we will ever really know if they used videotaping to win their three titles, but even if they didn't use those methods their success will be tarnished by their actions.

I'm an avid sports radio listener and by Tuesday 24hrs after this story broke, I was already changing the channel. The main reason were the fans debating what the punishment should be on Belichick and/or the Patriots. They were ridiculous.
No doubt he deserved a punishment and maybe even a suspension but at the end of the day he's still a darn good coach and probably the best in the league. And the Patriots and still a incredible football team and deserve all the success that has come to them. They are valid wins, both in the regular and post-season.
I'm just glad this happened in week one of the season and not week ten or we would have entirely different controversy on our hands.
So what do I think(?), they don't need to cheat to win. The Pats will do fine. I predict, they'll beat the Chargers this weekend, cruise through the regular season, maybe hit a speed bump in the playoffs versus the Colts, but probably win another Super Bowl this season (barring any serious injuries). And they will have earned it honestly just as their past success has come......and no, I'm not a Pats fan, just a sports fan. Go Cardinals!
When you win, people hate you!

First of all I just want to say that I agree 100% with Sibarian.
The Patriots did cheat and Bill deserved a punishment. But I also beleive that if teh Patiots weren't so succesful they wouldv'e done this but not have gotten fined for it. Mangini and other coaches would know about it but what's the point of getting them in trouble for it when they're not beating your team..then you just make an enemy for no reason. The Patriots are good so people feel like they need to take anything they know about them and tell Goodell. I bet the Bills do the same thing. But are they gonna get caught? No because they're not a threat to the Jets or relly any other team.

The videotape thing was just about the Jets...and the bad blood between Belichick and Mangini...Yes, I'm disappointed in Belichick...It was poor sportsmanship, but on the other hand, Mangini seems to be an ungrateful little weasel who in reality owes his coaching career to Belichick...
Belichick is a great coach...and he will be in the HOF...He's made the Patriots a dynasty...WITHOUT videotaping opponents...and those who don't realize that will be enlightened...
Andy Reid was asked about the Patriots' Super Bowls since the Eagles were one of the victims...He basically said that the speculation about videotape during the Super Bowls was ridiculous...that the Eagles just got outplayed...
I think Andy Reid knows better than just everyday Patriot haters...

My thought is that the Patriots are not the only team cheating. They just happen to be the team that got caught. Let's face it, stealing signals is a huge advantage and I'm almost positive that they did it during their playoff and Super Bowl wins.
There should at least be some type of notation next to their place in football history stating that they were in fact caught cheating.
I'm a Raider fan and the "Snow Job" still puts me in fits of rage.
Once a cheater always a cheater friend!

I honestly never liked the Pats and now I think this is cement on the feet. It's easy to play and win when you know what the other team is going to do. And the fact that they MIGHT have done this to win thier 3 bowls is enough to convict them....hell if we can call bonds guilty when they didn't prove anything and he's never tested positive they we can sure as hell say the Pats didn't win because of BRADY the GLORIOUS they won because they cheat. That's what I think once you cheat your rep is ruined just like barry.....may they go down in a ball of flames wrapped up in Vinatieri and Bledsoe jerseys

It turns out the Pats are the "clutch" team because they process the other teams signals early on, review them, and by the second half, they have figured them out. I'm sure you've seen your share of "come from behind" clutch Pat victories.
I've lost respect for the entire establishment. They are not the team I thought they were.
And without their spy cameras, Chargers are totally going to own them on Sunday. And a lot of other teams as well after that.

I think the team should be fined, plus, coach Bill fined, baby face Brady fined, the spy himself fined, and everyone else who knew about it, all fined, separately. Everyone should have 1/2 their paychecks go to a charity of choice for the entire season. I think cheater's suck. If you can't win the game by out playing your opponent, then don't play the game.

Just like in the wizard of oz, Tom Brady can no longer hid behind the curtain. He must prove to everyone all over again that he is the real thing. I think this is were we all see the real patriots. STEELERS RULE

Who cares, I hardly consider this anything like cheap shots to the QB, it's fair play. Big deal.
