There are ways to make it happen.
Generally, you cannot enter into a contract if you are under18, hence you cannot sign a lease. Also, your parents are responsible for your well being. Yes, you could get into foster care if things didn't go right. They could end up with problems too.
If you are an emancipated minor, (there is a legal process for this) then you may be able to get into apartment on your own. That is not a certainty.
Of course, the next problem is money. It is very hard to earn it if you are in school, and it isn't a good idea to skip or drop school.
Check out how much an apartment costs. Ad $200 to $300 per mont for food. You are too young for a car, so figure in money for a cab now and then. Of course, insurance, deposit, etc. all take a chunk out of things.
Many landlords only rent by the year. Expect to have to be ready to pay one or two months rent as a deposit. You may also be required to show gainful employment. None of that is easy at 14.

Well, it all depends on where you live. In most places rent is very expensive and where would the money come from? Rent is not the only cost, there is also food, utilities, renters insurance, first and last months deposit, furnishings. There is also the issue with your parents. Legally you are required to go through a process to become an emancipated minor, which is essentially like divorcing you parents. Do you have a job? Do you have transportation to that job. Will that job interfere with your schooling? You are required to remain in school even if you move out.
Don't be in too much of a hurry to grow up. It may look great from your perspective but its not all fun and games. The fact is that if you take on the responsibilities of adulthood now, it will probably have a long lasting negative impact on your future.

No landlord in his right mind is going to rent to a 14 year old child with or without parental approval. If your parents let you live in a place without parental supervision ,THEY could be arrested for child neglect. They are responsible for you till your 18 and your going to have to tolerate them till that time OR until such time as you can legally be emancipated ( around 17) by the courts. You need to concentrate on going to school and being a kid not worrying about getting your own place at 14. Good Luck.

Since you are a minor, they can't legally rent a place to you. In fact, your parents are responsible for your actions until you are 18.
Your parents could rent the place and let you live there, but they would still be responsible for anything that happened.
Why not talk to a school counselor and discuss what the problem is? You must have some issues that cause you to want to move out. It's a rough world out there, don't be too quick to strike out on your own.
good luck

Your parents will have to co-sign the rental agreement if you find a place that is willing to rent to you. Many rental agencies wouldn't do it because they think you are going to party and don't want to be responsible for your care. You can get emancipated from your parents if you legally want to be on your own. It's not easy though. Maybe you should just move in with someone that cares about you like another family member. It beats paying rent.

At 14 without an action from a court to emancipate you as a minor, the answer is no, not legally. For you to do this by yourself, under the age of majority, 18, you must file for emancipation as a minor, which when granted by the court makes you an adult legally, as if you were of age 18. Without emancipation, as a minor, you can not enter into any legal transaction or contract, and it is illegal for anyone to enter into an agreement with you. Not only would you be breaking the law, but also the person who you deal with would be liable.

Everyone else has already given you the correct answer. But I have a question for you. Why? If you don't want to do what your parents say, you should realize that they are probably making decisions in your best interest. Just tough it out. When you get older, you'll realize why they did what they did. But, if you are experiencing any type of abuse by either parent, confide in a school counselor or nurse. They will be able to help you get out of an abusive environment. Good luck.

The Uniform Commercial Code states hat minors cannot be held liable to a contract. You won't find anybody who will enter into a lease agreement with you because they will have no recourse if you change your mind, go back home and break the lease. Nor can you be held liable for any damages. Also, depending upon what state you live in, you can't be emancipated until age 16.

Um, You're not 18, so absolutely not. You need to stop causing trouble at home, and listen to your parents. I know sometimes it seems like they are being mean and all you want to do is move out, but you need to understand that they are only trying to help you suceed and not turn into one of those nasty pregnant 16 year olds. Graduate high school, then move out. You don't have that much longer.

no, your too young. you have to wait until your 18. no one is going to rent to you at 14. you would regret it anyway. i moved out at 21 and bought my own apartment. im 25 now and miss living with my family. just remember, when your on your own you have to do your own laundrey, dishes, cooking, cleaning, food shopping......its not all that fun that it seems.
