1. 6r-12=2r+36

First Subtract 2r to the other side to get

4r-12=36

Then add 12 to the other side to get

4r=48

divide by 4 to get r by itself and you get

r=12

2 .2.4m+24=6.4m

Subtract 2.4 to the other side to get

24=4m

Again divide by 4 to get M alone

6=m

3. -3b=96+b

Subtract b to the other side to get

-2b=96

Divide by -2

b=-48

4. -54-2v=-v-21

Add 2v to the other side

-54=v-21

Add 21 to the other side

-33=v

r-12=2r+36
Isolate the variable to one side of the equation.
to do this, subtract 2r from each side, ending up with
4r-12=36.
Then add 12 to each side.
4r=48
Then divide by 4
r=12
The same thing is true of the other equations as well.

2.4m+24=6.4m
Subtract 2.4m from each side, coming up with
24=4m
Then divide by 4
6=m
The other ones follow the same logic. Hope this helps.

you get the variables on one side and the other numbers on the other, then divide: for example

6r-12=2r+36
(subtract 2r from both sides and add 12 to both sides)
4r=48
r=12

You solve such equations by performing algebraic manipulations such that all of the unknown terms end up on one side of the equation. If you don't know how to do such manipulations, then you've missed most of the point of the class and you should take it over.
