A fresh coat of paint, some new furniture, kitchen tile and nickel plated bathroom fixtures would be enough for me. World peace can wait until the new curtains are installed.

I have to disagree..I'd much prefer brass fixtures in the bath..
or ceramic...or antiqued brass...or distressed wood...or ..maybe we should leave well enough alone..do the curtains and go for world peace...
