I went to U.S.C. and I was amazed at all the FOREIGN students from various countries. Are we as Americans educating them with our EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM, just so that they can GO BACK to their country and use it AGAINST us ~ be it for profit, etc.

of course I am speaking in a GENERAL way here. Many foreign students told me that they were "getting their education in America" and then going back to their homeland. I am not mad at them; it's just always been a thought on my mind.

1. American "education system" is a piece of crap. It is also among the cheapest ones (compared to the European standards). The price is an incentive when it comes to choices the foreign students make.
2. Foreign student tuition is a very considerable amount that allows schools to be funded on a very substantial level. Local "American" students pay pennies compared to what foreign students pay and, in most cases, do not pay at all by using the Financial Aid, various grants, and scholarships.
3. As one of my former professors stated, if it wasn't for foreign students, he wouldn't know who to teach. It is not a mystery that most "local" American students are morons. Look at yourself, for example.

1. Having educated people in other countries who know more about America than their own media will tell them helps us.
2. Having educated people in other countries helps us do business with them. We live in a global economy.
3. There certainly are haters who are only looking to obtain skills to use against us, but they exist in this country too.
4. USC people would ban UCLA so you're probably not objective about this anyway.

You are probably referring to graduate students. They are coming to the US to work for the professors in their research labs at very low salary. The way I look at it, our universities are exploiting them. Most of them are here so that they can apply for a green card (which is easier to do as a student than a worker).

Why shouldn't they be able to get an education? As long as they aren't illegals and as long as they pay tuition theres no reason why they shouldn't.

the best thing is that most of them get free education too (along with expenses covered by OUR tax dollars!)

Americans have gotten so "politically correct" its pitiful. You can't get much in America unless you aren't an American. Doesn't make sense does it?
