When in storm, it is dangerous to look for shelter under a tree since trees attract thunders.
When in storm, like everybody I need a shelter, but I am trying to find something that is safe and not even worse and more dangerous that the storm itself!! (some shelters, are like that you know.....).

The rabbit's hole is safe enough...

If you live in Tornado Alley, it's up to you to know what to do, ensure you have some sort of storm shelter. If you live in hurricane-prone areas, it's up to you to know what to do to reduce your risks. And if there's advisory - or order! - to evacuate, you DO! Katrina? The ones most harmed were those who did not evacuate as ordered. Then rescuers have to risk their lives for idiots. The excuses some people gave for their refusal to evacuate were ridiculous! They were offered FREE bus service, etc, to help them, and still would not leave. Bunch of idiots. You're building a house? It's up to you to decide what you want. But when a 5 tornado hits an area, there's nothing which will withstand it. It's up to you to take emergency measures. You CANNOT - and must not! - rely on govt. Criminy, US has a Congress incapable of passing a budget! You could always become an engineer, invent something more storm resistant, and if people want it & can afford it, some still won't do diddly about it!

I usually just stay inside my house when it storms, hiding under my blankets and every once in a while screaming at lightening. It works better than trees, because I stay dry that way.

I hope no one has tried this, as it is very dangerous thing to do. It is one thing I have stressed to my children and grandchildren to never stand near or under a tree during a storm.
