True justice is a difficult term to define. It suggests there is some sort of moral justice in all cases which is currently not being reached...

I think "true" justice relates purely to the feelings of both parties post-sentencing. That is, if a person kills a child and is given 10 years and the victim's family is satified, they will feel that justice has prevailed. However if that family thinks the sentence was too lenient, they'll say that justice has not been served.

The criminal justice system may not be perfect, but it is a positive thing. Lady Justice is blindfolded, holding the scales: she is impartial and all are equal under the law. Justice is served every day, and we have so many avenue of justice available. We can argue our case (even traffic infringement notices!), can appeal sentences we're not happy with, victims are given power in victim-impact statements, we can get "justice" through forgiveness in restorative justice processes, we can speak up!

It's a wonderful thing a democratic liberal society has!

True justice does not exist! The law that claims it for itself want us to believe in justice. Who ever has the right to judge and to say what is right or wrong. This is experience.
