I mean USC has a genuenly very good team that is headed by a very talented coach. They should be playing for the national championship this year unless "the wheels fall off." Almost every true USC fan who I have met has been very kind and gracious, not at all snooty and nasty like some people portray them. I used to work as a customer service representative for a couple of different companies and I received phone calls from people all over the country. And the nicest, friendliest people I talked to were from California. Maybe I haven't met the "right" people yet, but so far I don't have a problem with USC. I will always be a K-State Wildcats fan, but I do not hate USC.

Any successfull team gets hated because of the jealousy and envy of others.

You'll see it a lot from the SEC because they can't accept the fact that other teams have pass them up. Even though multiple ranked SEC teams have fallen already they still think their the best.

On a side note, do you remember the last time KState and USC played? That was a hell of a game. SC came up a little short that night.

They are picked on because they are ranked the #1 team in the nation. That's the way it goes. People will scrutinize them until the very end of the year, when they should have an opportunity to prove that they are #1. If they don't make it there, then this question will be moot because no one will care about them anymore.

I personally pick on USC because so called expertts say they have the best D in the nation. I think LSU's D has been more impressive honestly, and I don't get why that USC D is getting all of the accolades when LSU has been so impressive.

Hey! Thanks for being willing to like the misunderstood.

The Pac-10 in general doesn't get a lot of respect, because the games are late in the day and football just not a religion out West like it is in other parts of the country where there's nothing else to do.

So then you have a team from a well-to-do private school in the Pac-10 that goes out and kicks everyone's rear... and they just can't reconcile it in their brains. But USC has always had a focus on their football program, we have a better record than anyone in our league in its whole history.

A few points:
1) The Pac-10 has teams which are consistently ranked, which is more than I can say for SOME conferences. It is NOT a soft conference if so many of them are so often rated so high. Those who claim it is, open your eyes and get some reality.

2) USC may be a private school, and yes there are a lot of wealthy people who go there, but as an alumna I can vouch that the school is very generous with financial aid for students who are smart but poor, and the school is also very good at taking mediocre talent and turning out great performers.

3) I will let USC's performance on the field of honor speak as to whether or not it's overrated. I say that being a contender 5 seasons in a row is an indication of real talent, rather than these poofy teams who appear in the rankings one year and vanish the next.

Try spending some time on here and you will understand. Including our resident USC Fan Andrew, who when some asks what NFL team is best goes on and says USC is the best team and other SPAM type messages that does nothing but promote USC. Maybe MOST fans aren't that bad, but the few that are just get people to really get sick of them. Also they are in one of the worst Conferences.

USC is a very talented team that deserves to be #1 in the nation. I am not a fan of USC at all but the truth is they do have the talent. The main reason I cheer against USC is because its cool to see a variety of teams take the conference and make the BCS games.

People hate USC for the same reason they hate the Yankees, or Tiger Woods, or the Patriots. In the last five years, USC has five consecutive AP Top 4 finishes, five consecutive PAC-10 titles, five consecutive BCS bowls, five consecutive 11 win seasons, three Heisman Trophies, two National Championships, 60 wins, and only 6 losses (by a COMBINED total of 22 points). If you are tired of USC being the talk of the town, beat them on the field. If you can't, I guess you're left with no other option but to be a hater.

Because they are ranked #1 as of now and everbody and their uncle who likes their team wants to knock them.

I've been to Southern California perhaps 18 times. I've met friendly people as well as snooty people.

I think that most USC fans here are students , wannabe students, or band wagon fans.

When i was younger i loved watching the USC-Notre Dame game. It was allways exciting.

Tonight USC looked like an NFL team. They are big and fast.
Time will tell if they will stay undefeated and win the National Championship.

You're speaking of people who you were doing some type of business with, where manners are useful, versus the people here online, who can hide behind some moniker and avatar , and where a few loudmouths post so much unsportsmanlike garbage in the name of being a USC fan that other people here who likewise face no real life repercussions reply back in like style, and do so everytime they can.
As for the strength of the PAC 10, well, UCLA was fairly highly ranked, and kinda showed they didn't deserve it. And while Lousiville lost as well, they lost in the last few moments of the game, by one score. Were they overrated ? Heck yeah, but hey I'mma 'Eers fan.
I guess that being said we can relate to fighting for respect, despite having 2 Heisman candidates this year.
I wish every team, and its' fans best of luck this season, and in the one's to come (except when you play WVU).

A quote by "noshyuz"

"yes, they beat all the weak teams in the Pac-10, but most high schools in Texas or Florida would run the table in the Pac-10 too."

"so yes, you're still overrated if you keep beating weak teams. you only stop being overrated if you can actually win against a good team"

Nebraska, A highly ranked team that gets totaly dominated up front by a week team. That is the most stupid statement I have ever heard.

Noshyuz should quit putting his fingers on those keyboard keys before he makes himself look any more stupid than he already is !!!!!
