I'm not talking TGIF kind of good. I'm talking - WOW - I'm eating amazing authentic food.

I'm looking for Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, EVERYTHING!

We tried Mikuni Sushi - which was TOP rated and in all the magazines. ICK! It was exactly like a TGIF version of Japanese food. The Green Salad had some weird creamy Parmesan dressing - no carrot/ginger in sight. Retch!

HELP!

I have been living in NYC for 11 years and have been spoiled by amazing food. I am hoping to just find a few places I can get a great meal.

I strongly recommend you try MIZU. It's a Japanese Sushi buffet, with lots of Korean and Chinese food alongside.

I think its on East Roseville Parkway.

The sushi is fresh and very good. You can special order stuff like soft-shell crab, Saba, Unagi, and the like. Their Korean grilled beef is great.

Ice cream is the higher quality type, not the cheap kind, and not soft serve out of a machine.

They even have a chocolate fountain in which you can dunk marshmallows.

Very strongly recommended. Decor is great, too.

Venita Rhea's comes highly recommended. It's more of a breakfast/lunch place.

Katana's Japanese Restaurant.

Persian:

Orchird Persian Grill

Roseville, CA 95661

and also:

Shahrzad Fine Persian Cuisine

All though not in Roseville Lemon Grass at the corner of Munroe and Fair Oaks Blvd. is nationally recognized for its amazing menu of Vietnamese Thai fusion. Well worth the drive.

try Poor Red’s.... very fun & a nice ride out there!!!!!!! it's been around for yrs.......
The long wait in the bar seems to require a round of creamy Gold Cadillac cocktails, but the real treat is the people-watching on Friday and Saturday evenings at this biker bar/local hangout just outside of Placerville.
Meat: Assertively seasoned ribs and chicken smoked Texas-style
Sides: Baked potato and green salad with a slice of pickled beet
Good to know: An extra plate for sharesies will cost you a buck
Off-site catering: No
6221 Pleasant Valley Road, El Dorado; (530) 622-2901

Dominicks in Granite Bay - Douglas Blvd, I think on the corner of Auburn Folsom & Douglas. Gotta try it, italian deli in the front and an attached classy restaurant - if you're from the east coast, you gotta go here - it's the only place we can find true italian food. Can't think of anywhere else. Lived here 20 years (migrated from Jersey) and just had to learn to cook or put up with west coast ICK. I sympathize.

Things change so fast in the Roseville and Folsom area, I wouldn't make any recommendations any more. Going out to eat anywhere in the greater Sacramento area is chancy any more.

Want the best food in Calif? Go to Eureka to a place called OH's. Better than anything in S.F. or any other self-styled cosmopolitan area.

Bunz and Co. ! Great pub grub and my Uncle owns the place. I'm from Orange County so I don't know any other places up that way.
