No doubt about it folks. 7 points allowed all year by LSU's D. LSU beat a better team by a wider margin last week.

Oh, and LSU also had their 2nd and 3rd stringers in, so don't come in with that crap about how USC did it against Nebraska.

Oh, and I'm not an LSU fan, so don't go making those assumptions.

i am tired of seeing all of these USC fans posting answers saying how LSU fans whine too much...

I do recall after the 2003 championship that LSU WON! those USC fans and players whined because they didnt get to play. well you know what. play some teams that are worth a crap and you might make it there. they usually dont let you play there after beating up on high school teams ALL SEASON LONG!

and yes, i know LSU has played 2 "nobody" teams. (Middle Tenn & Miss. State) but how about that VT game, VT was said to have "one of the best def. in the nation" i was at that game it sure didnt look too good for them. & how are you USC fans going to whine that LSU plays no bodys??? who do you play that is any stronger than teams LSU will be facing in the next few weeks? you cant say notre dame. because if you are going to say them than lets recall January 3, 2007, Allstate Sugar Bowl, New Oreans Dome, 41-14... ring any bells??? I was there too didnt look too impressive.

Now that being said i dont mind LSU sitting strongly on the #2 spot. Because I know as well as most anyone who follows college football that USC has always been overranked. And i also recall early last week seeing ESPN guys on tv saying that LSU should of moved to #1. So you know LSU may not be #1 on the charts, but it was said on national tv by sports broadcasters that talk about teams for a living unlike the rest of us and they see what i see. So USC just sit confortably in #1 while you can. Cause LSU is coming for you.

Who even cares right now! The rankings today pretty much mean nothing more than how much the writers like your team. This is all just a matter of opinion. Lets see what happens in 5 weeks from now. If USC loses any games, then it will be an upset, but if LSU loses, everyone will talk about how they have a harder schedule (I really don't by into that, conference games are always more of a challenge because your rivals step up their games). If both teams stay undefeated, they will be 1 and 2 all year and will be able to play in the championship game, after that game is the only time being number 1 instead of 2 really matters.

A arrogant and niave Quote by J.R. R.
LSU is definitely better than USC. USC plays these highly ranked teams that are obviously only ranked up there because of who they are. VT was a legit opponent that was blown out. Plus, Nebraska still dropped 31 points on USC.

Trojans burst under pressure!

Hello...any body in that brain of yours. The only reason they put up those numbers at the end is that Carroll had most of his third stringers in there. The score was so indicative of what the Trojans did to them it isn't funny. USC's "O" line dominated Nebraska so bad you could drive a Mack truck up some of those gaps. And that is what the Trojans did ram the ball right up those gaps and destroyed Nebraska. They stay number ONE and deservedly so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will see. 7 points given up all year is much more impressive than 44. LSU's offensive also is JUST as impressive as USC's, plus we have Ryan Perrilloux as our specialty/situational QB.

Don't get me wrong. I think USC is great and quite possibly could be the best team in the nation. But this "world class D"? I haven't seen anything that would make me believe it's better than LSU's. I challenge ONE PERSON to tell me how their D is better.

We will see if the both of them make it to the national championship.

You know the only way to settle it is if they played against each other right??

And it's not the 2nd and 3rd stringers argument, it's just that USC has gotten into the bad habit of cruising when they have a big lead late in the game. It makes them look bad when they do that.

"Style points" don't matter. LSU played at home this week and last, while USC played on the road, in Lincoln where no body but the Huskers win. Yes, LSU's D whooped up on Middle Tennessee State this week...yawn. If it makes Tiger fans feel better, you can be #1 for a while. What matters is who finishes the regular season #1 and #2. So, if LSU can negotiate that tricky schedule with Tulane, Kentucky and Louisiana Tech, in addition to the "big" win against MTSU, we'll see how things look then.

I am not an LSU fan either but I would say yes they are just because I like my local high school team better than USC

Sorry, but Virginia Tech hasn't shown anything to tell me they're a better team than Nebraska. USC led 42-10 in Lincoln before basically calling the dogs off.

USC > LSU.

LSU should be #1.
top 3 should be:
1. LSU
2. USC
3. Oklahoma (very close to USC though).
