Death- just after our daughter was born via c-section a year and a half ago, I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung) the same day. I thought I was just having a panic/anxiety attack from all the recent events (2 days of failed induction attempts resulting in a c-section on the 3rd day in the hospital), and I mentioned to the nurse that I felt a little short of breath and I thought that's all it probably was. Luckily, she didn't think the same thing. She quickly listened to my lungs and rushed to get the doctor. If I had been at home when this happened, I probably would not be here today, because I didn't know how serious that little bit of shortness of breath could be. I am forever grateful to the OB nurses for ignoring my opinion that night.

Life..... I am hitting the books so hard, I don't remember what the sun felt like. This is obviously not an escape by choice, but an escape none the less.
