Iraq is about 'oil'? Perish forbid! From day one and even before that's been the worst kept secret in US history. When Cheney had his sleezy little meeting with all the capos of the oil mafia just before his lap dog, George Bush, sent in the marines, most folks knew which end was up. Then, when Shotgun Cheney refused let the public in on the dirty dealing hardly anyone except the true blue ditto-heads doubted that we'd been had by this duo of lowlifes. Now we're stuck in the greasy sludge of Iraq like Brer Rabbit got hung up on the tar baby! People who say 'It's not about oil' need to explain why the US has been in the pants of Iraq since the Brits waved their magic wand after WW1 and created this Frankenstein of a so-called 'country'. We we're happy as a pig in @#$ when Saddam was our pal....he was more than willing to take our yankee dollars for 'his' oil as long as he got his 10% off the top...and the US Oil Mafia was happy to make these 'arrangments' even if they were as illegal as hell. Later he reneged on the deal so the Bush Junta put out a contract on this bum....ah...it's way too involved for this venue, but yeah, it's about oil...blood for oil...it makes 'ya proud to be an American!

Yes I do.
I watched an old documentary from the early 80s where an intelligence official claimed that sooner or later this war was going to happen over oil.

Dick Cheney was CEO of Halliburton until he was elected VP.

In 2003 Halliburton won the exclusive contracts to what is estimated to be $4 trillion dollars worth of Iraqi oil. They did not take bids. They were awarded the contract hands down.

The real question is, what's our oil doing under their sand?

I think we already knew the Iraqis were fighting over control of their oil. It is their saleable commodity and source of wealth. This is not news.

What is news is the spin this Greenspan declaration is receiving.
