Hospitals in my area give whatever name to the kid that the Mom wants it to have regardless of marital status, so that is definitely not it. Also, she WAS married to him at the time of their births, but they are now divorced. I wonder if it's a cultural thing?

My daughter doesn't have her father's last name either. It is just for her own self in my case. She sees and knows her father.

Is she married to Russel Simmons? Hospitals do not give newborns the name of the father if he is not married to the mother. If they are married, then it's their choice what last name to give the child.

Her daughters names are Aoki Lee and Ming Lee. Go figure.
