My daughter's school had a week long "appreciation" gift giving for people they appreciate .....alot of the gifts were directed toward teachers...my daughter gave a gift to a lady custodian that helped her find her classroom when she got lost in kindergarten.
And, to a caferteria worker....I wonder why these people don't get as much praise as the teachers???
I was proud of my girl for acknowleding them!!!

You should be proud of her!! It's a good sign that she acknowledges all of the good that surrounds her!! She's got a heart as big as yours!! Congrats on raising a wonderful daughter!!

Those people don't get as much praise because they are not right out in front and noticed. Teachers are the ones that the child sees all day long and is foremost in their minds.

When my child gave gifts one year, we did a list together of all the people that helped in her daily school life. Bus driver, teacher, lunch lady, custodian etc... I wanted her to realize all the people that help in her school and remember them all.

She is a compassionate and observant child! My daughters are the only ones to give a gift to the school janitor at holiday time and they always bring an extra treat on their birthdays. He works so hard to make things nice is their reason why.

To me, the lunchladies just do a bad job of what they're told because they need a job. No offense....
