I grew up listening to Sabbath & Priest but I gotta tell ya the new Metal of today (Arch Enemy, Norther and Burden Of Grief) totally blows away the Metal of the past. No contest!
So lets see them thumbs down kiddies!

Black Sabbath. They were original for their time and pioneered metal. Without them, there probably wouldn't be an Iron Maiden or Metallica. Geezer Butler is definitely up there as far as rock bassists go, and Tony Iommi is an excellent guitarist.
