Actually, if you're so curious about mating habits of elephants, you should do a web search. If you're too lazy to do that, here's a summary: when female elephants are ready to mate, they have a special chemical in their urine, males can smell it, and when the smell is strongest, they mate. The male covers the female much like a horse or a dog. Twenty-two months later, out pops a cute 'little' baby elephant.

As for being cold. Elephants live in Southern Asia and Africa. It's not easy to get cold living there.
