We all know "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" was a classic, one of the best hip hop albums ever made, but that was 10 years ago, and IMO Ms. Hill, hasnt really given us anything worth while since then..Do you think Lauryn Hill is a one hit wonder, why or why not?

Its sad to say that the only female MCee that we could have easily put in youre top ten list...and is/would have been the greatest female Mcee ever...is a one hit wonder...The girl has issues...and her postpartum must have gotten the best of her...Man this girl was lyrically gifted...I think that she could taken most of these so called MCees thats out today...One of the reason why the Fugees cant get back together...Matter fact they'd be nothing without her....But iono what happened to her. Sorry to say its a FACT for now.

Fact: Before her solo she had The Fugees. I agree with Gatorade, The Fugees would have not been what they were without Lauryn. But she has not produced anything new since. I guess you can say she is a one hit wonder as a solo artist and the fugees were a one hit wonder as a group. If she was not a one hit wonder she would have another album by now. Both as an artist and with the group she saw success, but after the fact nothing else happened. Loved her, but she is a one hit wonder.

Just some info I saw an interview and the interviewer asked her why she has not done anything since her first solo and Lauryn said because she had nothing significant to speak about. She said as an artist the only way she can make music is if there is something significant in her life for her to make into music, she did not want to go and make music about anything. She said she could have, but that was just not her style.

UH; I guess she kind of is. I mean what the freak is she doing now? She's more like an one-album wonder, & she also did a classic album when she was with the Fugees The Score. I mean ou can't really say she's one of the great emcees I mean she only made one album. Thats like saying an actor is one of the best & only acted in one film. Or an artist makinga classic painting & you're saying he's one of the greatest painters out only making one painting. I don't know. Well I guess you can say she's one of the best emceesbecuase a lot of people say Biggie & Pun are one of the greatest & they only made two albums. Lauryn Hill did I think maybe 2 albums with the Fugees & had her own classic solo album. I don't know it's just my opinio. I say it's fact.

In terms of her "solo" work, than yes I guess you can say she IS a one-hit wonder (ouch.. it hurts to have to say that). Let's face it, Lauryn has fallen off. Whenever, there's a 10 YEAR gap in her career, than that indicates a one-hit wonder. I too, have read a few of her interviews and she says she hasn't been inspired to write anything and plus, she's been at home raising her children etc... I recently saw that clip of her most recent interview on youtube and she looks and sounded really spaced out (?). Poor Lauryn... I hope she comes back, but the door of opportunity may be closed now.

I'd say fiction. She had more then one hit. She's extremely talented (Didn't just luck out)

When i think "one hit wonder" i think about that group with that song about abercrombie and fitch (cant remember what its called some pop summer song)

Lauryn had the fugee's and miseducation of lauryn hill. Maybe she'll comeback, Maybe she won't....but i wouldn't classify her as a one hit wonder.

Hell No....I cannot even believe you would make such a blasphemous statement...Lauryn is just a human being...and human beings go through s hit...and a human being in the record industry goes through a lot of crazy s hit from people lying and playing games, to people just acting like all around snakes....but Lauryn is like Tyrone Biggums HNIC because she likes rocks....and them s hits will f uck with ur head....but musically she is a genius....she just smokes rock and thinks she can produce now....read the Scratch interview with Wyclef and he breaks it down....musically she is a genius she just has human issues going on...smack urself for that one hit wonder comment though...blasphemy....

Lauryn Hill undeniably replaced into between the main gifted females in the activity! i think of with each and every of the emotional turmoil and public outbursts, she form of close down. while she linked herself to that non secular consultant and began making all those blunt statements and offending her fanbase, she particularly alienated people. I enjoyed her music and that i do sense she is sorely overlooked, however the comments that she made/did no longer make on the subject of the listening of her music via white people, do reasonate hotly with me. that is opposite racism, by using fact no longer all white all of us is undesirable and there have been a crap ton of white followers who lost relatively some comprehend for her after those comments went public. i think of she would desire to come back and denounce her unusual behaviors and make some sturdy music returned!

depends on what you consider to be her work. Killing Me Softly was a solo cut and a hit, and Doo Wop (That Thing) was a hit, so there is two right there. Unless you don't count Fugee stuff, but then maybe Everything is Everything.
