My daughter was weighed at 14oz at 20 weeks and when she was born at 38 weeks she weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. But it really has to do with genetics.

I really have no clue. I just know that I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks and the doctor estimated that my son weighed 5 pounds 3 ounces at that time, which I think was around the 40th percentile for that time in pregnancy. However, when he was born at 40 weeks + 1 day he only weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces, so the doctor thinks he probably over-estimated the 36 week weight since many babies gain a pound every week or 2 in the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Your baby is still very small at 31 weeks. Actually, I just looked in something I had called "The Pregnancy Journal" that says that babies weigh about 3 to 3.75 pounds at 31 weeks and is about a foot long. You should look for this book, although you are towards the end of your pregnancy. It gives you lots of information - sometimes too much!

Congratulations!

the baby should weigh anywhere from 3-5 pounds. ultrasounds only give estimates on the baby's weight. after all, the ultrasound estimated that my first daughter was only 6 pounds at 38 weeks and when she was born she weighed 8 pounds,10 1/2 oz and she was born at 40 weeks, 2 days.

According to the internet at 31 weeks baby should be about 16 inches long and weigh just over 3 pounds....The thing is this totally depends on your health and the baby's health as well as genetic disposition.

31 weeks your baby is between 3-4 lbs. Genetics play a big role, and only an ultrasound can give you a close estimate.

Ultrasounds are notorious for being anywhere from 1 to 4 lbs off when determining a baby's weight.
