√(- 144) = √ (i ² 144) = 12 i

You could write it as - (twelve squared).

I can't put an exponent on here. But 12x12=144. Make sure you use the parenthesis though because -12x-12=144 , since the minuses cancel each other out.

So it should look like - (12x). If the "x" is really a tiny little two up by the twelve.

It sound like it will be 12i becuase the square root of a - number is i and the square root of 144 is 12 so the whole thing is 12i.
