Like game show contestants trying to be the first one to buzz in, the national sports media can’t wait to declare Notre Dame football and its head coach dead and buried. Two games into the season, we’re already seeing signs of an itchy trigger finger. Ding! Charlie Weis has lost four games in a row. That’s no different than Tyrone Willingham’s situation. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too! Ding! Willingham struggled in his third year. Weis is struggling in his third year. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too! Ding! At 0-2, Weis could be in for an eight-loss season. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too!

Will notre dame win 2 games this year??

I think they'll can him at the end of the season. The person who should really get canned is the genius that gave donut boy the contract extension.

I am a Notre Dame fan and I agree with you 110%. They should do Weis the same way they did Willingham. If they don't they will be seen as been biased. I give the Irish winning 4 games this season because they still have to play the service academies.

Well Willingham was good with his first and second year as a coach because he played with the fired coach's recruits....Weis has the same thing, he played with Willingham's recruits but once it's his turn to get his own players the team goes down hill...I'll give him one more season if i was the Notre Dame AD

Tyrone Willingham didn't have a contract that says he's the coach until 2015, Charlie Weis does.

I think it has to do more with the player personel than it does Weis. Don't just jump onto the "fire Weis" bandwagon. Come on, seriously, those guys on the field look like they don't even know how to play. They can't run the ball, they can't block, they can't tackle, they can't protect, they can't do anything. And that's not Weis's fault. Notre Dame will struggle this year because of the low talent level.

Even the military academies will be hard for the Irish to beat this year,Notre Dame is running out of excuses for their losses, after all that there will be some dumb city that will invite them to a bowl game,Notre Dame will be the only team in history invited to a bowl game with a losing record

Lets see, no offensive TDs in three games? Its hard to believe Navy could be defeated by this team. Will they win 1 game this season is the question. This was supposed to be an offensive genius. I wonder who the genius is who thought a ten year contract was the thing to do? The players looked confused, slow, awful at fundamentals, and totally unprepared. The coach is responsible. If ND loses to a service academy he is toast.

I don't think that he'll get fired quite yet. It's not really his fault, he is coaching an extremly young team that is inexpeirenced. Plus they lost Demetirus Jones. Once they pull things together and make the right roster changes, everything should go back to normal.
