No it's not against the law.
It does, however, go against flag etiquette.
Here is a link to answer all your questions about flag etiquette.
Please read it. No other flag SHOULD be placed above the US flag (not even the UN).
I recommend everyone follow this link. It's a shame to see how many People have already answered you w/ misinformation.

according to section 7 of the US Flag Code - "f: When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's right."
regarding the United Nations flag: section 7 tells us "No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof..."
As for the Church banner: the exception for that flag only applies to services at sea conducted by a Chaplain. It does not apply to services ashore or civilian activity.
In simplest terms, no other flag or banner should be flown above the flag of the United States. The US Flag code does indeed have force of law (it was enacted by Congress) but it's very unlikely that anyone would ever charge you with this sort of violation.
The law in question is Title 4, United States Code, Chapter 1 and so it would indeed be "against the law" and would be a federal violation if someone were to enforce it.
Proper respect for the flag of the United States while on the soil of the United States is something every citizen should aspire to. Failing to respect the flag properly won't likely result in your arrest though -- it will simply make those who know the rules wonder why you don't follow them.
You may also get a stern lecture from an old veteran or two. I once made a big scene in a KFC because they were flying the KFC banner above the US Flag on the same pole. I suppose they hole the Colonel in higher esteem their than they do their country.
For those who would argue that God's flag should be higher - I only ask "isn't this one of Caesar's rules and not God's rule?"

There's a Christian Flag? Besides, freedom of expression means that you can do whatever you want to the American Flag - you just have to worry about neighbors and passers-by. I don't think you should, but I personally wouldn't do anything. It's not like it's the Confederate flag or anything. But I'm in the military, and I believe that in this country, only 2 states may fly their flag as high as the stars and stripes, and NOTHING may fly higher. But I could be wrong . . .

No there is no law against flag desecration in the United States; it is a constitutionally protected right according to the Supreme Court.
Depends on what part of the country you are in but in Oklahoma you might be subjected to what is known in this region as an "as$ whoopin". It is painful and generally ignored by the local fuzz under certain circumstances.
I am not saying I approve I am just saying it is.

If you live in a community or subdivision that is governed by private deed restriction contracts, there may be a clause that actually governs the flying of the U.S. flag. I know that may sound strange, but there are homeowners associations in Houston, Texas that have deed restrictions which have been interpreted to allow the community association to prohibit the displaying of the U.S. flag except as provided by the homeowners association rules. In and around Houston, private deed restrictions and homeowner associations take the place of zoning laws.

The flag of the church, along with the United Nations flag, are the two authorized to be flown above the US flag.
Any violations would not be illegal, just a breech of flag protocol.

Yes it is.
In my childs text book in the front it says No flag maybe flown higher than the Amerian Flag.
And to the person that said they will heat their house with the Christian flag, I hope that you change your mind about that.
God Bless

Because the civil authority of the United States stands above all other authority within our borders. The law of your church is subservient to our Constitution of the US and of your particular state. Other nations work it differently, but civil authority is above all other here in the US.
