There are those "special needs" bathrooms, for the physically disabled and families that need to change diapers. Of course, depending on what was desired, a stall might be big enough-just not private. Granted none of these are real romantic, but they will do in a pinch.

I guess that's the point of why this thing is SOO ridiculous. His party, the Republicans, dropped him like a hot potato, but his arrest had more holes in it than...more holes it than...than a men's restroom in a busy airport. (Oh, I slay me!)
But seriously, let's take a look at this in a purely factual light. I'm not a big fan of Republicans, but I think EVERYONE, even corrupt, hypocritical senators, should be given due process. Here are my objections:
There was an arrest made because two men were ASSUMED to be flirting. (I've read the entire report.) One of these men, the man already in the stall, was an undercover cop. Craig 'made brief eye contact through the slit in the door as he entered the adjoining stall'. So what? I've done the same thing when assertaining whether a stall is empty. Craig got 'cozy' on the toilet, pulling his pants down in the normal fashion for a man using a stall, and then , a few moments later, 'ran his fingers under the edge of the stall'. He repeated the action. The officer then identified himself, and asked Craig to step out of the stall.
That's it. That's what he got arrested for.
Now...if he had been offering to give oral sex to a stranger in a public bathroom...that would be grounds for arrest, in my book. But, using an obscure signal shouldn't be grounds for an arrest. It's ridiculous. We have no idea if Craig planned on doing it there, or taking the man to a hotel.
Craig should have fought the charge, but not because it would have proven that he is straight (he obviously was flirting). He should have fought it because FLIRTING SHOULDN'T BE ILLEGAL. If the underground gay community uses hand signals to flirt in public...so what? Who cares? Craig never offered to conduct himself in a lewd manner...all he did was offer a VERY subtle signal to another man.
The whole thing is crazy....
Oh. In answer to your question...if Craig wanted to have relations with a stranger in a bathroom, he would have joined the other man in the stall. They would have 'gotten off' and left. I mean, he could have rented a room, but it's obvious that Craig was looking for 'Mr. Right Now', not 'Mr. Right'.
IF Craig had done this...yes...he should be arrested. He didn't do this, though. He never even offered to do this.
How do I know all this? How do I know all about the dirty secrets in men's bathrooms?
I'm bisexual.
Have a nice day.

You should ask Larry Craig, he seems to know all the 'ins and outs' of restroom sex.

They probably would have gone and rented a room near the airport. Who knows?
