and have the window fixed? I'm sure that is the problem because you can hear the motor working when I press the button.

Sounds like the window regulator may have a broken cable or rivet, but knowing Ford, may have plastic clips. Usually the labor to replace a regulator or window motor is no more than 1 hour. If they try to get you for diagnostic labor tell them to eat your toe jam. The checkout on something like that gets them half way through the total R&R time to repair the problem. They may still try to charge you diagnostic time, but that is entirely visual. Make them show you in the labor guide where it shows diag time on a regulator. Just keeping you from getting ripped off.

The window rests on a small frame that is moved by an electric motor in the door.

It's really easy to fix - you unscrew the screws holding the fabric door panel on, and just lift the glass and reseat it in the frame.

I'm guessing a body shop will do it for you for fifty bucks.

it may have broken the track that it runs on also,some of those are plastic,its probably going to either need a new regulator or track either way its going to cost about the same probably around 125.00 bucks to get it fixed,good luck .
