I has a celeron now and I'd like something faster/newer but don't have much $$$ so would like to do it myself

yes u can but it would be best to use an expert just grounds yurself with a grounds strap take of the heat sync carefully not to damage copper tubing

Laptop Processors are very hard to change.
They have to be exactly the right type and model.
Check the Dell web site and see what options there are for yours.

You will also find that Laptop Processors are more expensive than desk top ones.

We are talking about a pentium 3 Dell computer. Well I think that you can upgrade the processor in your computer which is actually very simple to do. depends on how old the computer is, processors change quite rapidly so if it is more than 2 or 3 years old about the only place you could find one would be ebay

pretty tight on a lappy. you may have to reinstall your system, depends.
