That's a good question. We should ask all of those Patriots fans who used to be Broncos fans. They were once Packer backers, and before that they loved the Cowboys. And who did they like before the Cowboys? The 49ers. In the 70's they were rooting for Lynn Swann.
I think this question could probably be answered well by looking at the fact that a year after a presidential election, 60% more people will say they voted for the man in office, making it seem that the popular vote should have been around 62-38 for the current president, when the tallies are usually around 53-47. It has something to do with a lack of honesty, integrity, and an irrational fear of being associated with "losers" in our fine, upstanding nation.

The NFL is a league of entertainment. One could be a Colt fan because of the the level of entertainment they bring. Some die-hard fans like the team because of the city they live in, and the team could be a drag to watch.

i loved the cowboys through the superbowl years and the three 5-11 embarrassing season. I have always stuck with them no matter what that is why i am especially happy for this year. i hope tony can take us to our nfl record sixth superbowl.

Dont forget to mention all the Patriots bandwagon fans on here. Probably the most annoying and naive fans Ive seen.

Because the NFL has manufactured a "bandwagon" with Peyton Manning in it...Its lame as hell, cause I'm a Pats fan...Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the Super Bowl this year...

Because, there's only, what, 32 NFL teams? That means there's alot of places without a true local team. They gotta root for someone, might as well cheer for success I suppose.

Im no fan, but I like them. Im from Lousiana and of course the Mannings have lived here and in Mississippi so I like Peyton. As long as they aren't playing the Saints (Don't remind me of week 1) then I guess I go for them.
