What would you say Tolkiens writing style is. Mainly based on The Hobbit.

I would note the descriptive passages and the use of onomatopoeia (sound effect words). Tolkien was a wordsmith who used very precise words.

The style is Third person omnipresent narrative.

It was originally a children's book, though people now a days think it's too hard for kids. REmember, back when it was written, kids didn't watch tv, they read, and they read actual big books, not little kids stuff they read today.

it pretty awesome. if you liked that then you would probably like the Narnia series, because they both went to school together and shared there thoughts about the writing and the books
