It's a tough situation. But you have to go down to the real question. What's more important, your friendship with this friend, for however long you've known her or this guy who you really like and likes you as well. There has to be a mindset, unhealthy or not, with this guy that makes him so interested in his ex's friend. You have to look at both sides, and in the end with friends...the friendship always overpowers the relationship. You should be comparing you friendship with the guy initially or is it just infatuation and young first affection that will essentially put you at risks of your other friend.

If you want to say friends with your friend, No you shouldnt date the ex. It would be a very uncomfortable situation. And there are so many other guys out there.

If you want to keep your friend, talk to her first. See if she would be uncomfortable or not like it if you went out with him. If she says go for it, then I would. If she says it would bother her, then don't if you want to keep her as a friend. Don't ever choose a guy over a good friend. Good friends are hard to find.

Depends how long they were together. If you are talking about a year, then i wouldnt. I would be so annoyed if he was my ex.
If it was like a month type of thing and your friend thinks its ok then go for it i guess
