Why does ESPN always forget that Ty Willingham was fired not so much for his record but because of the fact that his last recruiting class was ranked 30th???!!!! That sucks! He deserved to get fired and the fact that Weiss's last recruiting class was 6th means that he will stay.

Don't forget that Ty's 30th ranked recruiting class are the leaders of this year's team. Maybe that explains why they're so bad! Any team with seniors who suck will be bad!

Idiot: that's exactly my point, if that recruiting class had been better, Weiss would not be forced to rely on his underclassmen.

You are an idiot. I am no Notre Dame fan, but even I know that Charlie Weis was handed a team that was put together with hard work from Ty and reaped all of the benefits of being along for the ride as they won their games. Now he has the recruits and the team that he has coached on the field and it's showing just how poorly he coaches when he doesn't have the superstars.

And YOU don't forget that there is no way that even 50% of that starting offense and defense are seniors. The coach picks who plays and it is often times not a senior. Deal with it and Grow Up.

Look man its hard not to hate a team with no matter how bad they are they will always be on national TV on Sunday, they are also 0-3, Ty Willingham is having some success at Washington.
Weiss still hasnt had any of his supposed good talent come through yet so in a year if he is as bad as he is right now he deserves to be fired. He is not a good coach and never should have left Bellicheck's side.
And ranked 30th of 117 1-A teams isnt that bad its a moderate recruiting class.

I don't know about that. If ND doesn't turn things around quick, Weiss is in trouble, and he could be out of job at the end of the season. They've scored 13 points in 3 games. Their lone touchdown was a defensive touchdown. Notre Dame has played three talented teams, but they look like one of the worst teams in the FBS. Whether or not Weiss can recruit, he's got to prove he can coach this team to some wins, and not just against cream puffs like Navy, Duke and Air Force.

What's there to like about ND??? They are the only team in America to have all of their games nationally televised, and what does the viewing public get for that? Quite possibly the worst team in Div. IA?

And actually now most of the team is Charlie Weis's guys, since he came in 3 years ago, that means that 3 years ago he recruited the juniors of today's team. Only reason Weis had a SPECK of success was because of Ty's recruits, including Quinn, Walker, Samardija and McKnight.

If ND fired Ty because of his recruiting class "rank", which is comepletely subjective, then they are idiots as well. I'm quite sure UW's recruiting class wasn't too hot either, but at least they've scored an offensive touchdown this year. Weis needs to prove he's as smart as he thinks he is right now.

Bottom line is Charlie Weiss is in his 3rd season and not only is he losing, he's getting blown out and they haven't scored an offensive touchdown yet. The fact that his recruiting class is ranked 6th makes him look even worse, because it seems he has talent but can't coach.

Look at Ty Willingham now up at Washington, he's doing very well.

It's pretty obvious what's going on.

If the seniors are Willingham's, then the rest belong to Weis. Seniors are important, but not that important. Talent is talent, and ND doesn't have as much now that most of Willingham's boys are gone. It's not about ESPN not liking ND, it is that ND sucks. ESPN regards Weis as a coaching legend despite the fact that he has accomplished nothing as a head coach. In their view, it can't be that he has failed as a coach, so it must be something else, like recruiting.

Notre Dame looked like they had never been on a football field today. they looked horrific.
ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports, and every other sporting news reporting agency doesnt like them either. they stink.
Because of their academic standards, they will never have a top ranked team. Sometimes you have to dumb yourself down so you can get the large O-Lineman.
Notre Dame will go 0-8 to start the season.

ESPN always makes fun of losing teams (faltering programs) that have a long tradition of winning in any sport

Notre Dame is stupid for letting him go.

Recruiting class ranking means absolutely nothing. It is all based on Opinion.
