Terry - well then shouldn't you get fired for doing coke in your corner office?

The Dallas coach got suspended for steroids...Bill gets a fine and a stripped draft pick..

I really have no idea what grounds Goodell is working on to award different penalties for all these things...but whatever..maybe he draws them from a hat...

Because he's in good with the Crafts. It's obvious the plan was to punish the Pats as much as possible without harming the team on the field. I'm serious starting to worry that all sports are just slightly more genuine than wrasslin'. At least with wrasslin' they're honest about it being a joke. But this is as bad as Barry Bonds or that corrupt nba ref Dona---whatever his name.

You know, Vick and Jones are suspended for stuff not even one bit associated with the NFL. Belicheck directly defied these fairness rules TWICE. And doing what he did DIRECTLY brings into question the veracity of the outcome. It's complete BS, and what Belicheck has done hurts the NFL way more than what Vick and Jones have done. Jones and Vick's crimes are societal, Belichek's directly affects the outcomes of NFL games.

Because the Patsie's are the poster boys of the NFL, and Bill Belicheat is the poster coach for the NFL. If it had been a different coach, different team, he woulda gotten suspended 4 games and took a salary cap hit for a period of about 3 years, not to mention the negative paycheck.

As Ryan Parker's song so aptly put it, "Shady Brady & Bill Belicheat".

It's simple; the Patriots are a money machine for the NFL. If it had been a lesser team, the punishment would have actually mattered. Oh no, they took away a first-round draft pick! Now the Patriots will only have the exact same amount of first-round draft picks as every other team!

It actually punishes the team more by taking away a draft pick. If they suspend him, he serves his suspension and that's the end of it. If you take away the pick, or picks it could prevent them from drafting a potentially lucrative player that could play for years to come. You never know who they could have gotten, like the next Tom Brady or whoever.
