Do a local county property search...you can go online or go down to county records of your area.
You just need the property address, current owners name, or folio number.
You'll need to enter the dates of how far back you want to search...I'd go back at least 30 years....you'll be able to see who lived in your home and how long. If you have your warranty deed for your property you can also use it by searching with the OR Book and Page of the recorded Deed.
Hope this helped-

You can find the property history in county records. Most counties offer this service online for free. Here in Lee County Florida the records are going back about 30 years of history per property for online views and the paper files are going back to the first property owner. Paper Files are hard but not impossible to review but in most cases you need to make an appointment and have to pay a fee. In Lee County Florida the site you need to go to is the Lee County Property Appraiser in other States it is the Property Assessor. It is actually pretty cool to learn the history of the property you are living in. Or when you bought the house there was most likley a Title Search done. Ask the Title Company or Closing Attorney for a copy. You should be able to get the history this way as well. It is actually pretty cool to learn the history of the property you are living in. So good luck with your researches.

I've lived here since 1988. That means I have owned my house for 19 years. I know the previous owners as I bought the house from them and they were the ones who built this house. Therefore, there have only been two of us in here. You could probably go to a Title Co. or maybe research at a Library or at the Court House.

Look at your appraisal district website. Where you can search the tax records to find out who paid taxes on your house before you. But all land deeds are public record. Can look at deeds of trust at your local courthouse if you don't have property tax in your state.

Look at the mortgage papers. They are the only way, unless you ask the neighbors.
