No, of course not. People say this because most guys have only somewhat less than respectable motives when befriending a girl. In other words, they might pretend to care about the friendship when actually all they care about is hooking up.
This not always the case though. Sometimes people don't have any physical chemistry and therefore they can be great friends. I'm friends with plenty of woman and there are no problems and I have no other motives.

Well, I would say that at least half of my friends are guys and they are not gay -- well one or two of them are, but the rest of them are straight.
I don't know why people always say that. I get along better with guys than I do most girls (although my very best friend is a girl).
If you want to be friends with a guy, be friends with a guy and if other people give you a bad time about it, you don't really need those people anyway. They are just jealous.

You can be friends without a boy having to be gay but some people might think you like each other or something even though it might not be true. People would think that because if you're "friends" with a boy and you're not dating, since you spend time with each other people would think you like each other but are too shy to tell each other. But this is only my guess.

Not at all. I have alot a friends who are both gay and straight. Now I'm not saying my straight friends didn't try to hit on me at one time because they did (not all but some did try).What you have to do is tell them in a firm but not mean way that you don't see them like that and that you don't want to ruin the type of friendship that you guys have. And if they respect you just like you respect them then there should be no problems.

Guys are so much easier to get along with!!!! No drama, lots of fun stuff to do. I've had straight guy friends and gay guy friends, and yes, being friends with the gay guys was just like hanging out with another girl

I'm not sure who gave you that advice but!!!! I'm not gay, I date one beautiful lady. Ohhh buy the way... I also have several woman as friends. I have one friend (a female) that I have known and talk to just about every day since I graduated from high school.
That was a few years ago!

No way, thats not true at all. A girl and a guy can just be friends! I have had so many guy friends that werent gay.

That's not true. You can be friends with a person of the opposite sex. You won't be attracted to everyone you ever meet, so it's very possible. I've always had male friends, it's no big deal.

No, that is not true. I shared a great friendship with a girl throughout college. Then we slept together and ruined it. So, I revise my first answer. Yes, you can only be friends with a guy as long as he is gay.

thats so not true.
I have a lot of friends that are guys. shoot the majority of my friends are guys. and like 2 of them are gay. so i disagree with that completely. and no im not a tomboy trust me. but no. having a guy friend is so much fun because you don't have 2 compete to get a guy 2 look at you or something. i actually like having guy friends more than girl friends.
