rooms dont matter. since you have a router, i assume that the its not one of those gay ones with only one place to put the ethernet cable in. the only thing you would have to do is to get another ethernet cable, connect it to computer 2 and plug it into the router.

Just connect both computers into the ports on the switch/router and both can use the Internet.

It is possible, first you will need to plug both computers into the router.

Then, set up a network with internet sharing capabilities.

Sound complicated? Scarey?

I downloaded a free network set-up tool called Network Magic. It made network set-up a breeze.

The free version is exactly that free. But the full feature version gets into a little more detail, like printer sharing, etc. will cost you.

But the free version will do everything you want.

It's very easy, connect the router between the modem and your computers. Just look at the back of the router.

cable> modem> router> computers

you configure both computers both manually or automatic

Manually

First assign ip address and subnet mask
for eg ip 192.168.0.0 subnet 255.255.255.0for client1
and
ip192.168.0.1subnet255.255.255.0

Now set work group for eg internetac
make sure each client computer is in the same work group

connect the router to the switch then the client via nic cable retart client

Share internet connections and thats it hit your browser
