My ex husband met his little internet friend in real life at Motel 6 Hagerstown. And Holiday Inn in Stafford VA. And a few other hotels in DC. I have the credit card receipts. Obviously he wasn't disappointed then, but now he has neither of us so he's a sad little man these days.

I've met several people in person that I met on the internet. In one instance the verbal sparks did follow through on meeting but distance was a problem and a few other issues that cropped up as time went by.
The others were great dates, fun to meet but the sparks just didn't fly.
After a while I stopped the internet dating, it just didn't work out to be a place to meet people in my area.

I have met someone on the net then in real life...it ended up horrible. She lived about an hour and a half from me in Kitchener....So me and my mom who drove me went up to meet her,we got lost for like 2 hours cuz they changed the name of the road she lived off of.Well after we got there I was like so nervous and eventually we talked and she had her best friend with her so we never talked one on one very much. Her mom and my mom got along quite well.Anyways by the end of it all,she told me that she'd talk to me online that night.....she never did have any contact with me for the next week or so then she came on and told me exactly everything that I didn't want to hear. She wasn't ready for a realationship and I guess she had some issues to solve with her ex bf....who happened to live 5 doors down from her.Well anyways I don't know if she didn't want to be in a realationship because she thought that her ex would threaten me or the fact that she had a 2 yr old daughter who I absoulutely adored maybe she thought that I wasn't capable of helping her out with her daughter.Oh well I just moved on from there but what could I do.That's my internet dating story.
Thanks for reading....those of you who actually did. :)
Oh I almost forgot I attempted another offline meeting a girl before I met that one mentioned above....she made me wait awhile, she saw me then turned right around and walked the other way.She didn't have the guts to even approach me to say hi....what does that tell you? I was hurt big time. She may not have been attracted to me but I can tell you this....I was so attracted to her....She was HOT!!! So that's my other failure at internet dating.Ok now I must go.Sorry I like to type lol.

No,but I have several friends who do Y/A and we talk about it when we get together or run into each other. I'd be leery of getting involved with anyone I only know through the net. As to my friends, they ARE different online than IRL. I supppose I am too. You can be more unhibited, say what you really think. I talk about how much I love my family all the time, but IRL it would really mawkish to be saying that all the time. In fact,IRL I tend to be kind of a complainer at home. My wife looked at my answers one night and was very, very pleasantly surprized.

I've met many people who I known online. I used to go to "room get togethers" I went as far as Ontario, Canada once for a meeting. It was all good, and fun. Great people
If you mean to meet someone for a relationship, I've done that too. Many were disappointments, but my current boyfriend was not a disappointment. He's what I've been looking for my whole life.
My son also met his wife online.

I met my girlfriend on the internet on my Sprint phone. She lived in California and I lived in New York. We moved in a house together after about 5 months in Indiana and this coming April 12th will be 4 years. She, in no way, was a dissapointment.
